In Dr. Lahariya's Own Words

Why I Became This Kind of Doctor

"I have spent more than two decades watching patients leave a clinic with more medicines than they came in with. I decided early on that I would be a different kind of doctor — one who tries to give back what disease takes away: good health, fewer pills, and more years."

My training began at Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, and continued at Lady Hardinge Medical College, where I completed my MD. I then went on to work with the World Health Organization — first in India, then in Africa, and later at WHO Headquarters in Geneva. I have worked with UNICEF, the World Bank, and several other UN agencies across nearly 30 countries.

But at some point, I felt the pull of the clinic — of one patient, one conversation, one health decision at a time. I returned to practice in Delhi with a clear purpose: to combine the science of prevention with the warmth of a family doctor. That is what Centre for Health is built on.

I believe that for most people with diabetes, hypertension, fatty liver, or obesity, the body has not failed — it has been let down by lifestyle. And lifestyle can be changed. That is why I invest deeply in every consultation: not just to prescribe, but to explain, to educate, and to build a plan that makes sense for your life.

How Dr. Lahariya Practises Medicine

1

Medicines as last resort, not first.

Most lifestyle conditions can be managed — and often reversed — through targeted changes. He has helped more patients reduce their medicines than start new ones.

2

You deserve to understand your condition fully.

A consultation is never rushed. He explains what is happening in your body, what the options are, and what the evidence actually says.

3

Prevention is more powerful than treatment.

Every chronic disease has a window before it becomes irreversible. Dr. Lahariya's practice is built to help you find and act in that window.

4

Science and warmth are not opposites.

150+ publications meet genuine care for every person sitting across from him — research rigour combined with a calm, patient-friendly approach.
