The Wiley Research Heroes Prize recognises researchers whose work goes beyond academic publication to directly influence real-world outcomes. Dr. Lahariya was awarded this honour for research that has shaped national health policy in India — including driving the introduction of 12 of 13 WHO-recommended vaccines into India's national immunisation programme, helping increase full childhood vaccine coverage from 55% in 2005 to 94% by 2023, and contributing to primary healthcare reform frameworks used by hundreds of millions of people.
He is also the Editor-in-Chief of Preventive Medicine Research & Reviews — an international peer-reviewed medical journal — and a Fellow of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (FNAMS), India.

The Foundation's work embodies Dr. Lahariya's core belief: that research should not stop at the journal page. It should translate into policy, and policy should translate into better health for real people — especially those with the least access to quality healthcare.
